It’s being reported that Washington’s Landon Currier was out putting in some laps at Pala raceway yesterday and had a nasty get off. His wrist might be broken. Get well soon Landon.

The Mammoth Motocross, 2XPromotions and Transworld MX are excited to announce the addition of the Road to Mammoth Qualifier Series for the 2010 Mammoth Motocross. These qualifier events will take place throughout California and will be part of the entry process for the 2010 Mammoth Motocross, taking place June 17-27, 2010 in Mammoth Lakes, CA.

With over 40 years of successful events and over 10 years of sold out entries, the 2010 Mommoth Motocross adds to the competition this year by implementing this new performance based entry process that will allow a percentage of winners and top finishers from each round of the Road to Mammoth Qualifier Series to receive an entry into the 2010 Mammoth Motocross. The remaining entries for the 2010 Mammoth Motocross will come from on-line registration, as in the past.

Qualifying rounds will take place at the following dates and locations:
Qualifier #1 January 30-31 Milestone MX, Riverside, CA
Qualifier #2 February 20-21 Rynoland, Anza, CA
Qualifier #3 March 6-7 Zaca Station MX, Los Olivos, CA
Qualifier #4 March 20-21 Oatfield MX, Turlock, CA
Qualifier #5 March 27-28 Perris Raceway, Perris, CA
Qualifier #6 April 10-11 Honey Lake Raceway, Milford, CA

Pacific Northwest’s J.Whipple is having a great year so far, his students Ryan Villipoto and Josh Hill are tearing up the supercross tracks in 2010. Ryan Villipoto hired longtime friend and trainer (J.Whipple) to start working for him at the second supercross of the year. “I got the call at the Phoenix Supercross saying he needed help. We took off 1.5 seconds from the first timed practice to the second. From there he got second that night and we have been working together since.”

Also since being hired by R.V I was hired by the Hart and Huntington team last week to come out and work with there guys in Las Vegas. I worked with Chris Blose and Matt Boni. They both did an awesome job. Unfortunalety Boni had a crash and did not race this weekend but Blose had his best heat finish yet with a 4th place. Starting this week I will be flying to California to work with my new lites rider Phillip Nicoletti and R.V. for the San Diego and A3 rounds.

Sad news from Western Washington’s Lance Phillips. While out training at the Wonder Warthog training academy, he had a crash that resulted in a fractured L1, L2, L3, and L5. While Lance was scrubbing off the finish line jump, his foot peg caught the lip and catapulted him off the bike. He has had an x-ray, and is currently on his way to see a specialist. He maintains high spirits though, saying that he’s now going to recover and focus on the AMA Motocross series this summer.

Local professional rider Ross Johnson is holding a training session at Oakwood Arena on February 11th from 4:30 - 7:30. The class is open to all ages and skill levels. This is a one time class, Ross and his dad are both going to be working with riders on their riding skills and techniques. Give Ross a call at 360-790-8494 to get more details. So round at A1 went alright. Jason actually had to ride his stock practice bike because his race bike just wasnt running right. Qualifying went good in Jason’s first timed qualifier he was the fastest one out there! After both qualifiers were over, Jason was 22nd fastest which was plenty fast enough for the night show. Heat 1 took off and Jason was burried in the back of the pack and worked his way up to 13th by the end of the race. The LCQ came around and once again being on a stock bike didnt get him the starts he needed and he ended up 6th in the LCQ which wasnt enough for the main. We will keep our heads up and go into PHX and beyond ready to rock and riding for Team Rockwell/FirePolice! Keep your eye out for 758.
