2008 Privateer National @ Extreme
This weekend Define The Moment was over in Spokane, WA for the 2008 Privateer National. $40,000 in prize money was put up, and it sure brought in a lot of pros for some great racing action. More than 40 pro’s showed up for each class, because of this they ran qualifiers and finally got the fast 40 out on the track for the money motos. Take a look and see how they did!

With $10,000 on the line each moto (4 motos, 2 moto format 125/250F’s and 250/450F’s) you can sure bet everyone was giving it their all. The dash for cash was on!

Out of the gate quickest was Cole Siebler (53). It was a pretty clean start considering the fact that 40 riders piling into the same corner with tremendous speed is quite exhilarating.

After racing Washougal last weekend Mitch Rask (572) was back out on the track. Mitch ended up finishing 10th in this moto.

Just behind Rask there was a great battle ensuing between Shon Wilson (949), Luke Schultz (314), and Kody Bill (641).
Jake Anstett (74) finished up the moto in 9th place, giving a nice charge near the end.
Finishing in 8th was Ryan Abrigo (103), who was also racing the Washougal National last weekend.

Just in front of Abrigo was the 221 of Tiger Lacey and 472 of Scott Champion. Tiger finished in 6th, and Scott in 7th. They sure duked it out on the last lap, making it quite a spectacle for the fans.
The rider from Arizona, Michael Blose (183) finished up in 5th.

Spokane native, Jason Potter (758) took home the 4th position.
While Billy Payne (195) came in just before Potter, finishing 3rd.

2nd place was the position Derek Costella picked up.

The winner of the holeshot, and winner of the moto was Cole Siebler (53).

To start off the 2nd moto, Corey Pennington (561) shot out of the cannon first and took the holeshot.

Coming through the whoops first it was Pennington (561), Lacey (221), Siebler (53) and Anstett (74).
Adam Metzler (439) was getting roosted pretty bad and it shows, just look at his number plate. The track was wet in many areas creating a muddy roost that was impossible to dodge. Metzler finished the moto in 10th place.
Putting on a hard charge here was Scott Champion. Champion finished 9th for this moto.

Ryan Abrigo (103) was one of the guys that decided to take the outside line through this corner. Ryan ended the moto in 8th.

Jake Anstett stayed up in the lead pack battling his way around the track and ended up in 7th just before Abrigo.
After getting the holeshot, Corey Pennington (561) faded back just a little bit. He was still able to hold onto the 6th position though.
And finishing just in front of Pennington was Michael Blose, who came in 5th.

Without a doubt, 4th place belonged to Billy Payne (195). As seen here, Billy sure know’s how to lay down the throttle when he needs to.
Hanging in there all moto and keeping his position in 3rd was the Oregon rider, Tiger Lacey (221).
Once again Derek Costella (808) was 2nd….

And Cole Siebler (53) took home another win going 1 – 1 in the 125/250F class on the day.

Now on to the bikes with more power than people know what to do with, the big ol’ 450F’s.

Oregon’s Adam Metzler (439) took charge early and escaped with the holeshot.

The holeshot would not go without carnage this time though, Brandon Brower got his boot lodged between Sean Kranyak’s rear tire and frame causing quite a mess. He was literally laying there for over 2 minutes while several people tried to pry him loose. It was an ugly mess to say the least.

Once again Corey Pennington (561) stayed in the top 10. 10th place was his to take here.

Both Mitch Rask (572) and Tony Boughten (629) had a feirce battle going on the track over spot number 8, it would end up going to Boughten, and Rask took 9th.

Wide open and no plan on slowing down is the motto Tony Boughten (629) follows, he finished 8th in this moto even though suffering from some serious back pain. Because of this, he decided to race only the 450 motos, and not compete in the 250F class.
Coming across the line in 7th would be Scott Champion.

The mini bike sensation Derek Costella, well he’s pretty good on the big bikes too.. He came in 6th for moto 1 of the 450 class.

After getting the holeshot Adam Metzler (439) put on a good race for the win, he ended up in spot number 5.

Cole Siebler ended up coming across the line in 4th here.
Kevin Rookstool (94) got up onto the podium in this moto, he placed 3rd.

Adam Metzler (439) and Ryan Abrigo (103) were putting on a great show for the fans as they raced hard.

Abrigo saw the checkers while in spot number 2.
The moto win went to the guy from down south, Michael Blose from Arizona.

Again the holeshot went to Adam Metzler (439). He ended up going down and not finishing the race after a few laps though.

Nick McConahy cracked the top 10 in the final moto, Nick is from the Spokane area so he knows this track very well.
This time Sean Kranyak didn’t get a limb caught in his bike, and he crossed the line in 9th place.
Finishing in the top 10 every moto of the day was Scott Champion. He finished this moto in a well deserved 8th position.

First time in the top 10 this weekend was the 885 of Jeff Mann. Jeff placed 7th in this one.

One of the riders who raced in the Washougal National, Konnrad Kuest. He took home 6th in the final moto at Extreme.

Once again Ryan Abrigo (103) decides to rail the outside of the berm blasting all the way though to spot number 5.
Just outside of a podium finish, in the 4th position was Michael Blose (183).

Suffering from lower back problems and everything, Tony Boughten (629) was able to secure a podium spot.
The man on a mission, Cole Siebler ended the race in 2nd.
The big winner though, was Kevin Rookstool (94) who took home the checkered.
